STAVANGER, Norway -- StatoilHydro has received consent to conduct exploration drilling using the mobile facility Transocean Winner.
The consent applies to drilling of well 6507/6-3 in production license 212 C. The well is located in the Norwegian Sea at a water depth of approximately 400 m (1,312 ft).
Drilling is scheduled for August 2008 and is expected to take 42 days. The well will be permanently plugged.
StatoilHydro has also received consent to conduct exploration drilling using the mobile facilityWest Alpha to drill well 30/11-7 in production license 035/362 in the North Sea.
Drilling operations are planned to start as soon as the facility has completed drilling of well 6407/7-8.
The drilling program is expected to take 82 days if the well is dry.
