Offshore staff
LONDON -- Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. has contracted the ENSCO 7500 semisubmersible drilling rig for 950 days, with an option for another 950 days. Following upgrades in Singapore, the rig is expected to start work in 3Q 2011.
Day rate for the rig is $320,000, subject to adjustments based on operating costs. The contract calls for a performance bonus on the day rate and additional costs if the rig works in waters more than 1,500 m (4,921 ft) deep.
