Idemitsu gains Norway well approval

Idemitsu Petroleum Norge will drill an exploration well in the northern Norwegian North Sea, following approval from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway.

OSLO, Norway -- Idemitsu Petroleum Norge will drill an exploration well in the northern Norwegian North Sea, following approval from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway.

The semisubAker Barents will drill well 35/7-1S in production license 377S, 100 km (62 mi) west of Florø, in a water depth of 387 m (1,269 ft).

Drilling should start and will last for 73 days, or longer if a discovery results that requires formation testing and drilling of a side track.
