Centrica cleared to drill in North Sea

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved Centrica Energi’s exploration drilling program in the Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway -- Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved Centrica Energi’s exploration drilling program in the Norwegian North Sea.

The jackupMaersk Guardian will drill well 8/10-4S in production license 405, which Centrica operated in partnership with Petro-Canada, Spring Energy, and Faroe Petroleum.

The well location is 260 km (162 mi) southwest of Stavanger, in a water depth of roughly 66 m (217 ft). Planned duration is at least 62 days, depending on any discoveries.
