North Sea Tudor Rose well finds viscous crude
Offshore staff
LONDON – EnCore Oil’sTudor Rose appraisal well 14/30a-5 has reached total measured depth in the UK central North Sea.
The well encountered an oil column within the targeted Beauly formation and oil/water contact at 3,236 ft (986 m) TVD subsea.
Wireline sampling and pressure testing of the hydrocarbon-bearing zone has been conducted. Initial analysis suggests a viscosity of 600-800 cP, probably too viscous to be commercially developed. However, further onshore analysis will be required before this evaluation can be confirmed.
The well will be P&A’d.
