DUBAI, UAE -- Compañía Perforadora Mexico (PEMSA) has contracted Lamprell to supply a newbuild jackup drilling rig.

Hull 108 was already under construction by Maritime Industrial Services (MIS) when the latter was acquired by Lamprell in July.

This is a Friede & Goldman design, Super M2 self-elevating mobile offshore drilling platform, designed to operate in water depths of up to 300 ft (91.4 m) and with a rated drilling depth of 30,000 ft (9,144 m).

Lamprell will complete fabrication of the rig in its Sharjah yard, with delivery scheduled for June 30, 2012. Upon delivery, Lamprell will repay part of the debt raised for the MIS acquisition.
