LONDON – Salamander Energy Plc reports a directional well from its Bualuang wellhead platform by the jackup Ocean Sovereign found oil in the East Terrace prospect.
In Thai license B8/38, the well went to 2,916 m (9,567 ft) measured depth an encountered 35 m (115 ft) of net oil pay in three zones. An evaluation program confirms that the discovery is separate from the main Bualuang field, with differing viscosity oil, gas/oil ratio, and oil/water contact.
Development drilling on the license continues.
