BANGKOK, Thailand – Saudi Aramco has extended contracts for Asia Offshore Drilling’s jackups AOD IandAOD II until June and July 2019, respectively.
The extensions will add $225 million to the value of the current contracts.
Both rigs have been working for Saudi Aramco since 2013.
TheAOD III’s initial three-year contract with Aramco is due to expire in October: negotiations over an extension continue.
Asia Offshore Drilling is a venture between Mermaid (33.76%) andSeadrill (66.24%).
