GDF Suez proves oil in Dalziel in North Sea

LONDON – GDF Suez E&P and its partners have discovered oil in the Dalziel structure in block 22/16 in the UK central North Sea.
The jackupTransocean Galaxy II drilled the 22/16-6 well, which flowed at rates of more than 8,000 boe/d. The well is currently being side tracked to appraise the extent of the discovery. Block 22/16 is part of GDF Suez-operated license P.1799.
Last year the company proved hydrocarbons in theMarconi structure in the same sector.
Co-venturers are RWE DEA UK SNS, JX Nippon Exploration and Production (U.K.), and Total E&P UK.
