EnCana to resume Nova Scotia offshore drilling

Calgary's EnCana Corporation plans to launch an exploration drilling campaign off Nova Scotia beginning in November or December of this year. The first probe, which will be drilled on the Grand Pre block (exploration license 2357), is the first leg of the campaign that could see up to six wells drilled between now and the end of 2007.

(Canada)- Calgary's EnCana Corporation plans to launch an exploration drilling campaign off Nova Scotia beginning in November or December of this year. The first probe, which will be drilled on the Grand Pre block (exploration license 2357), is the first leg of the campaign that could see up to six wells drilled between now and the end of 2007.

EnCana also plans to drill two wells called Digby and Baddeck on the Lower Musquodoboit block, two called Huckleberry and Malagash on Huckleberry (EL2389) and one called Wolfville on Cohasset (PL2901). The entire program calls for between one or two additional appraisal wells to be drilled for each successful discovery from the exploration wells.
