Offshore staff
(US, GoM)-ATP says its Gomez project is back on track after delays caused by Hurricane Katrina. Diamond Offshore's drilling rigOcean Voyager has resumed operations on Gomez in Mississippi Canyon block 711 after it was removed from service for two months to repair damages caused by the hurricane.
Meanwhile, ATP says modifications to the semisubmersible drilling rigRowan Midland continue with module hook-up in progress. The rig is being converted into a production facility for operations on the ATP-operated Gomez field. The operator says the semi is scheduled to arrive on location near the end of the month after the Ocean Voyager completes well operations.
ATP estimates that approximately 50 days of well operations and facility hook-up remain. Construction and installation of the two 27-mi oil and gas export pipelines has been completed. First production from Gomez is expected by the end of the year.
