BANGKOK, Thailand — PTTEP KH Offshore has made three oil and gas discoveries offshore Sarawak, Malaysia.

The Chenda-1 exploration well was drilled in Block SK405B, while the Bangsawan-1 and Babadon-1 were both in SK438. All three fields are said to be high-quality oil and gas reservoirs, and all are close to previous discoveries made by the company.

Babadon-1 contains large sweet gas sandstone reservoirs up to 200 m thick, the largest PTTEP has proven in the region following its earlier Lang Lebah find.

In addition, the company has had appraisal success with the Sirung-2 well in SK405B, a follow-up to the 2021 oil and gas discovery Sirung-1 exploration well. Engineering studies will start shortly for a potential development.
