OSLO, Norway — The jackup Shelf Drilling Winner has spud the HBA-27B well on the Halfdan Field in the Danish North Sea for the TotalEnergies-led Danish Underground Consortium (DUC).
According to partner BlueNord, this is the first of two new infill wells to be drilled this year in the Tor reservoir in the Halfdan North East area as part of a seven-well infill campaign.
Drilling activities will continue over the next few months with HBA-27B set to come onstream during the fall.
This is the DUC’s first new well since 2019, said BlueNord COO Marianne Eide. She added, “Combined with the high level of well intervention and well stimulation activity that is already demonstrating significantly positive results, we are in a strong position to mitigate the natural decline of the reservoir and maintain today’s excellent production performance.”
