OSLO, Norway  Kosmos Energy and its co-venturers plan to drill the Akeng Deep exploration well next year in Block S offshore Equatorial Guinea.

Panoro Energy, in its latest operational review, said the well would test a play in the Albian, targeting about 180 MMboe close to in-place infrastructure at Block G.

The Block G partners have contracted a rig for a campaign of three infill production wells, due to start drilling during fourth-quarter 2023, all of which should come onstream in 2024.

They also plan workovers including an electrical submersible pump conversion and behind-pipe perforations, along with further field life extension and asset integrity projects such as replacement flowlines; gas compression at the offshore Okume field; and gas injection to limit routine flaring.

To the south offshore Gabon, further exploration wells are under consideration in the Dussafu PSC, operated by BW Energy, making use of optional well slots agreed under the current rig contract.

A new gas-lift compressor unit is being installed on the FPSO BW Adolo to support production from six existing wells on the Tortue Field. The new facility should start operating when first oil flows from the Hibiscus Ruche Phase I development.
