LONDONNeptune Energy has extended Odfjell Drilling’s contract for the semisubmersible Deepsea Yantai to include three further wells offshore Norway next year.

The rig is currently drilling production wells for Neptune’s Fenja field-Njord tieback in the Norwegian Sea.

It will now drill an additional well at the Fenja field and two exploration wells on Neptune acreage elsewhere in the Norwegian sector. And there is an option to add more wells.

The Deepsea Yantai, owned by CIMC Raffles, has operated for Neptune in Norwegian waters since November 2019. It recently completed appraisal and production wells for the company at the Gjøa P1 and Duva fields in the North Sea.
