STAVANGER, Norway – Ithaca Energy (UK) Ltd. has contracted COSL Drilling Europe for work on the Abigail and Captain Phase II projects in the central North Sea.

The company will use its sixth-generation harsh environment semisubmersible COSLPioneer for this contract. It is expected to start in March 2022 and end in 2Q 2024.

Ithaca is developing the Abigail field as a subsea tieback to the Greater Stella Area facilities, with first oil anticipated in summer 2022.

Captain Phase II is designed to increase hydrocarbon recovery from the heavy-oil Captain field. It involves injecting polymerized water into the reservoir supported by additional subsea wells, subsea infrastructure, and new topsides facilities.
