LYNGBY, Denmark – Maersk Drilling has confirmed a four-year development drilling contract from Tullow Ghana for the ultra-deepwater drillship Maersk Venturer, plus additional services.
The vessel recently started the campaign on the Jubilee field, and will also drill wells on the TEN field.
Estimated value of the contract value is around $370 million, excluding additional services and potential performance bonuses.
The contract has a progressive day rate structure for the full duration, but with provisions: after the initial 18 months, Tullow has the option to switch to a market-linked day rate structure and early termination.
