RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras has proven more oil in the giant deepwater Búzios field in the presalt Santos basin offshore Brazil.
Well 9-BUZ-48D-RJS on the field’s northwestern portion was drilled 188 km (117 mi) from Rio de Janeiro in a water depth of 1,850 m (6,070 ft).
Tests at a depth of 5,540 m (18,176 ft) confirmed a good-quality oil reservoir.
Petrobras operates the Búzios field consortium, in partnership with CNOOC and CNODC.
