PARIS – Eni and partners BP and Total have discovered gas and condensate in the Bashrush prospect, 11 km (6.8 mi) offshore Egypt.
The well on the North El Hammad license penetrated 102 m (334 ft) net gas pay in good-quality sandstones of the Abu Madi formation.
A production test flowed at rates of up to 32 MMcf/d, which was constrained by the testing facilities.
Total estimated that potential deliverability per well through a tie-in to nearby infrastructure at up to 100 MMcf/d, along with up to 800 b/d of condensate.
Kevin McLachlan, senior vice president Exploration, said. “These resources have low development costs since they can rapidly be tie-in and put into production.”
Eni operates the license with a 37.5% interest; BP also has 37.5%, and Total 25%.
