HOUSTON – Vantage Drilling was aiming to deliver the jackup Topaz Driller to Vaalco Energy early this month, after the rig had completed a program for Eni offshore Gabon.

Vaalco has booked the rig for a campaign off Gabon which should start with the Etame 9P appraisal wellbore, followed by the Etame 9H development well.

The company plans up to three development wells and two appraisal wellbores with the latter potentially confirming up to 5 MMbbl net of 2P oil spread across six well locations, to be targeted in future drilling.

In addition, Vaalco has extended the lease contract for the FPSO Petróleo Nautipa at Etame through September 2021, with an additional one-year option to run through September 2022.
