ABERDEEN, UK– MCS Kenny, Wood Group Kenny’s riser engineering business, will feature its enhanced DeepRiser engineering analysis software for deepwater operations at Deep Offshore Technology International Oct. 14-16.
The company recently enhanced the software’s drilling riser tensioning system model and added a detailed modeling capability for the subsea wellhead.
Michael Lane, head of engineering at MCS Kenny’s Software Division, said: “Traditionally drilling riser analysis models did not include the wellhead at all, or else modelled it as a single-bore tubular. But the loading being transmitted to these complex components in deepwater and ultra-deepwater systems means that a much greater level of detail is now required. DeepRiserprovides this with both composite and pipe-in-pipe models of the various wellhead components.”
