Steel cut for Chinese deepwater flex-lay system

SCHIEDAM, the Netherlands – Huisman and CNOOC subsidiary COOEC have staged a steel cutting ceremony for their new pipelay system at the Huisman facility in China.

This is a 325-metric ton (358-ton) Vertical Lay System forflexible pipe, the first operated and owned by a Chinese company.

The tower will be installed on the offshore construction vesselHYSY286, which already houses a Huisman-supplied 400-metric ton (441-ton) deepwater mast crane.
