Woodside Energy Ltd. says that due to a worldwide shortage of suitable deepwater drilling vessels, it appears unlikely that a rig will be available for drilling offshore Kenya in Q4 2005, as planned. According to Global Petroleum Ltd., Woodside's partner in the area, the high demand for deepwater rigs, driven by the increase in oil and gas exploration as a result of high oil prices, is responsible for the lack of a suitable drilling unit.

Woodside is actively seeking a rig for drilling offshore Kenya and has indicated 2Q 2006 as a likely drilling date for the first well, currently targeted for block L5.

Global has a 20% equity interest in blocks L5 and L7 and is fully carried for the cost of two wells. Global also has a 20% equity interest two other blocks, L10 and L11.
