Talos Energy names new president and CEO
As Talos Energy promised last month, it has appointed a new leader of the company. Paul Goodfellow has been named president, CEO and a member of the board of directors, effective March 1.
Goodfellow has more than 30 years of domestic and international experience in the oil and natural gas industry. He spent the majority of his career with Shell, serving in various senior executive roles since 1991. Among his time at Shell, he led the company's global deepwater business, which included the US Gulf of Mexico, offshore Mexico, Brazil, West Africa, Malaysia, the North Sea and other international areas. Additionally, he held positions overseeing Shell's global drilling, completion and well intervention organization and served as a key member of the Projects & Technology and Upstream leadership teams.
Goodfellow is currently executive vice president and group chief internal auditor, overseeing Shell's internal audit function.
He holds a doctorate and an undergraduate degree from the Camborne School of Mines in the UK. He is also a member of the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Former C-suite leads
After nearly 13 years with the company, Tim Duncan stepped down from his role as president and CEO at the end of August 2024, which is when Joseph A. Mills began serving as interim president and CEO. Mills resigned Jan. 6 of this year.
As of Feb. 4, no updates have been made to Duncan's LinkedIn page about the next chapter of his career. He has, however, been serving as a board member of Expand Energy since February 2021.
