Woodside hires board director

PERTH, Australia -- Tan Sri Dato' Megat Zaharuddin bin Megat Mohd Nor (Din Megat) has joined the board of Woodside Petroleum as non-executive director.

Megat was nominated by Shell to replace Russell Caplan, who resigned from the board in October 2007.

Megat is a director of financial services group Maybank Berhad and previously served as chairman of Malaysian telecommunications company Maxis Communications Berhad.
