Chevron appoints chief technology officer

Chevron has appointed John McDonald as chief technology officer.

SAN RAMON, California -- Chevron has appointed John McDonald as chief technology officer. He replaces Donald Paul, who will retire in 2008. Paul Siegele, currently VP of deepwater/exploration projects, will replace McDonald. Siegele and McDonald will assume their new roles on Jan. 1, 2008.

McDonald will serve as corporate officer for Chevron's three technology companies: Chevron Energy Technology Co., Chevron Information Technology Co., and Chevron Technology Ventures Llc. Siegele will assume the role of corporate VP of strategic planning.
