HOUSTON -- Shell has appointment Willem Schulte as chief scientist reservoir engineering.

"As Value Assurance team leader he has seen many of the challenges around improving recovery in existing oil fields," says Matthias Bichsel, executive VP, Technical, for Shell International E&P. "Willem, who holds a PhD in Applied Physics, has more than 28 years' experience as a reservoir engineer and is recognized for his expertise in improved and enhanced oil recovery technologies both within Shell and in the wider oil and gas Industry."

Willem is chairman of the EAGE's Improved Oil Recovery committee. He has served on industry event committees such as ADIPEC, MEOS, and SPE forum series. Willhem also lectures in advanced reservoir engineering at Delft University.
