OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma -- Devon Energy Corp. announced today that Lyndon Taylor was appointed senior VP and general counsel of the company. Taylor will assume the role Jan. 31, after the retirement of Duke Ligon, who has been with Devon for more than 10 years.

"Though we have been planning this transition for more than a year, it is still a bittersweet occasion," said John Richels, Devon president. "We will miss Duke, and we could not be more grateful for the role he played in Devon's unprecedented series of mergers and acquisitions over the past decade. However, we feel fortunate to have an opportunity to welcome Lyndon. His 20-year background in energy law and his solid track record as a leader will enhance our executive team."
