Weatherford appoints Colley COO

HOUSTON -- Weatherford International Ltd. has appointed E. Lee Colley as COO. In the newly created post, Colley will be responsible for the company's global operations.

In conjunction with Colley's appointment, the company will merge its evaluation, drilling and intervention division with its completion and production systems division to form a single operating group. The merger will facilitate the company's growth plans over the next several years, Weatherford says, improving the company's ability to meet clients' objectives with improved flexibility and efficiency. The move is also tailored to improve the organization's transparency with clients in geographic markets, the company says.
