Newfield Exploration announces new hires

David F. Schaible has been named Newfield's president and COO. He will continue to serve on the company's board of directors.

Offshore staff

HOUSTON -- David F. Schaible has been named Newfield's president and COO. He will continue to serve on the company's board of directors.

Lee K. Boothby will be Newfield's senior vice president - acquisitions and business development, effective Oct. 1. He currently serves as vice president - Mid-Continent. Boothby will relocate to Newfield's headquarters in Houston.

George T. Dunn has been appointed vice president - Mid-Continent. He will relocate to Tulsa, Okla., effective Oct. 1. Dunn will lead a team continuing the development of the Woodford Shale and other resource plays in the region.

John H. Jasek will be vice president - Gulf Coast, effective Oct. 1. This division will comprise Newfield's Gulf of Mexico and onshore Gulf Coast asset teams
John D. Marziotti has been named Newfield's general counsel. Prior to joining Newfield in 2003 as corporate counsel, he was a partner at Strasburger & Price LLP in Houston concentrating on energy-related litigation.
