ABERDEEN -- Offshore cargo transportation group Swire Oilfield Services has named Rupert Bray as its chief operating officer.

Bray was previously director and general manager of the company’s UK division, where he is succeeded by former operations director Roy Burrell.

Swire says the changes are in line with its global growth strategy, which includes construction of new bases in the deepwater oil and gas hubs of Gulf of Mexico, Angola, and Nigeria.

Bray said his immediate focus in his new role would be on Brazil, India, and Asia Pacific, “as well as the introduction of new product lines to our global group."
