Smith International names executive VP of strategy implementation

HOUSTON -- Smith International has appointed Mike Pearce, currently president of Smith Technologies, as executive VP of strategy implementation, effective Nov. 1. In this newly created position, Pearce will focus on the identification, selection, and negotiation of potential acquisitions and joint ventures for Smith International outside of North America. Norman Mckay will replace Pearce as president of Smith Technologies.
