SAN RAMON, California -- Chevron Corp. has appointed John S. Watson as chairman of the board and CEO, effective Dec. 31. Watson, who is currently VP, succeeds David J. O’Reilly, who is retiring.
The company has also appointed George L. Kirkland as vice chairman of the board, succeeding Watson. As vice chairman and executive VP of upstream and gas, Kirkland will retain responsibility for overseeing Chevron’s global exploration and production activities for crude oil and natural gas.
