BHP Billiton names chairman

MELBOURNE, Australia – BHP Billiton has appointed Jac Nasser as chairman. He will succeed Don Argus, who will retire in early 2010 as chairman and non-executive director.

Nasser joined the board as a non-executive director in 2006, and is a member of the board’s risk and audit committee.
