Gulf Island Fabrication appoints CEO

HOUMA, Louisiana– Gulf Island Fabrication Inc. (NASDAQ: GIFI) has appointed Kirk J. Meche as president and CEO. He succeeds Kerry J. Chauvin, who will step down as CEO and chairman of the board on Jan. 1, 2013.
John P. Laborde, a member of the company’s board of directors since 1997, will assume the role of chairman of the board.
