Diamond Offshore Drilling names CEO

Diamond Offshore Drilling has appointed Lawrence R. Dickerson as president and CEO.

HOUSTON -- Diamond Offshore Drilling has appointed Lawrence R. Dickerson as president and CEO. James S. Tisch, formerly chairman and CEO, will remain chairman of the company and will continue to focus on major strategic decisions.

Dickerson has been with the company since 1979 and was previously CFO from 1989 until 1998 when he became president and COO.
