PARIS -- Total CFO Robert Castaigne will retire, effective May 31, 2008. Patrick de la Chevardière, currently deputy CFO, will be appointed CFO and member of the executive committee, effective June 1, 2008. He will also be in charge of insurance; trading and shipping; and information technology and telecommunications.
