Smith International appoints CEO

Offshore staff

HOUSTON -- Smith International has appointed John Yearwood as CEO, president, and COO, effective Jan. 1, 2009. Doug Rock, who currently holds these positions, will remain chairman of Smith's board of directors after Jan. 1, 2009.
