Afren boosts E&P team

Pan-African E&P independent Afren has appointed Dr Niall McCormack as Exploration director.

LONDON – Pan-African E&P independent Afren has appointed Dr Niall McCormack as Exploration director. He was previously with Hess Corp., most recently managing Exploration, Exploitation, and Appraisal for Africa.

Afren has also made five senior appointments in Production Operations. Ravi Sharma joins as director - Production and Development; Ricardo Ramirez (previously with Addax Petroleum) becomes corporate Geosciences manager; Ron Parenti (again ex-Addax) is corporate Drilling manager; Kelechi Ojukwu, formerly with Shell, becomes Asset manager for OML 26 in Nigeria; and Shahin El-Sharif, formerly subsurface supervisor for BHP Billiton on the Atlatnis/Mad Dog developments in the Gulf of Mexico, joins Afren as Engineering and Planning manager.
