NOIA: The Ocean Industries - Energy's Leading Edge

It has often been said that a challenge inspires the capable to do what has been deemed impossible.

It has often been said that a challenge inspires the capable to do what has been deemed impossible. In its long history, the US offshore energy industry has repeatedly conquered seemingly insurmountable obstacles, and I am confident that as we are faced with ever-greater challenges, we will continue to raise the threshold for future endeavors.

Currently, our industry is faced with a tremendous challenge - the challenge to meet America's mounting energy requirements while continuing to elevate our standards of environmental performance and safety. We have met this challenge in the past, and I know that we will strive to set new milestones for the future.

Working harder, smarter

As industry continues to work harder, smarter, and more efficiently, NOIA continues to advocate for reliable access to the offshore resources that America needs to ensure a bright future. Rarely have the eyes of the nation watched our industry as closely as they have in recent years. NOIA accepts this heightened scrutiny as simply another challenge - an opportunity to demonstrate that the ocean industries are the leading edge of America's energy future.

Proving equal to this challenge will be an important part of our future success. Securing reliable access to the valuable hydrocarbons located off our shores depends in large part upon how well we articulate the story of the offshore energy industry. I ask that you join us in demonstrating that the ocean industries continue to lead the energy world by working safely, reliably and efficiently to secure a bright future for all Americans.
