TGS-Nopec shareholders have elected Claus Kampmann as the company's new chairman of the board of directors.

TGS-Nopec shareholders have electedClaus Kampmannas the company's new chairman of the board of directors. Kampmann was first elected to the TGS-Nopec board in June 2002, and has served as the chairman of the board's Compensation Committee over the past two years.

Daniel S. Sanders,president, ExxonMobil Chemical Co., and vice president, ExxonMobil Corp., retired on Aug. 31 after more than 43 years of service. Sanders joined the company in 1961 and started at his latest position in January 1999.

Devon Energy Corp. has hiredStephen J. Haddenas senior vice president – exploration and production. Hadden will work out of Devon's Oklahoma City headquarters and will report to John Richels,the company's president.

Workstrings LLC, a Superior Energy Services company, has namedRay Dixonas vice president – operations and general manager of Workstrings' Superior Inspection Services division. Cornado Rubiois the company's new general manager of the Latin and South America division. Workstrings has also named Morley "Rock" Dupré vice president — International.

Knowledge Systems has promotedEamonn Doyleto vice president of operations for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The company also announced that John McIntoshhas joined the company as account manager for Europe, Africa, and Middle East operations.

Marco Cercatois the new president of Eurogif, the European oil and gas suppliers forum (Brussels).

Superior Energy Services has promotedWarren Rusich, Matt Hallinan, and Pat Larribasto new managerial positions. Rusich has been promoted to Corporate QHSE (quality health, safety, and environment) assurance director. Hallinan has been promoted to vice president — QHSE for the Well Intervention Group. Larribas has been promoted to district manager of the Broussard, Louisiana, Pumping and Stimulation division. Larribas was most recently operations manager for the division.

Transmeridian Exploration Inc. has appointedEarl W. McNielas vice president and CFO of Transmeridian. McNiel brings financial experience to the company, having served as vice president and CFO of Pride International Inc. from 1997 through 2003 and most recently as its vice president of planning and corporate development.

ALTRA Energy Ltd. has recruitedDavid Brownand Graham Gaffney as senior process engineers. The new additions bring ALTRA's workforce up to 20 – double the number employed by the company just nine months ago – and follows the recent appointments of International Director Steve Duvalland Business Development Manager Irina Sokolova-Pirie.

Wood Group ESP has appointedBrian Sevinto vice president — Latin American operations, with responsibility for further developing the company's electric submersible and surface pump activities in Mexico, and Central and South America. Sevin was previously vice president, Business Development and Marketing.

C&C Reservoirs has addedRobert Trice,an expert in carbonate and fractured reservoirs, to its team of reservoir specialists. Working in the London office, Trice will be responsible for developing E&P solutions services on carbonate and fractured reservoirs. He will also provide customer support and selective proprietary consulting to C&C Reservoirs' clients.

ConocoPhillips has named President and CEOJames J. Mulvato the additional post of chairman.

Geotrace has hiredDeborah Walkeras controller based in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining Geotrace, Deborah spent 12 years with Western Geophysical/WesternGeco. John Weiganthas joined Geotrace as depth migration manager.

ABB Offshore Systemshas been divested from ABBto a consortium of Candover, 3i,and JP MorganPartners. The divestment from ABB also includes ABB Vetco Gray,ABB's oil and gas activities in Brazil, and ABB's global oil and gas modification and maintenance business. A new holding company, Vetco International Ltd., as been established. Vetco International has two subsidiaries – Vetco Gray Inc. and Vetco Aibel AS.

Costner Industries Texashas partnered with Astra Evangelista,a Repsol YPFcompany, to offer engineering, procurement, and construction services to the upstream oil and gas industry.

Classification societyABShas signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstanfor Emergency Situations, which represents the Kazakh Coastal State Authority. The MOU establishes a formal framework for technical collaboration between the two organizations with respect to offshore oil and gas operations.

LandWorks Inc. has agreed to acquire Geodynamic Solutions Inc., a petroleum exploration-oriented geographic information systems company. This transaction provides LandWorks with a suite of enterprise software products including Petrolynx and Spatial Search Engine technology. In addition, LandWorks expands its consulting and custom application development division. Geodynamic Solutions will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of LandWorks.

Technip Offshore UK Ltd. has awarded Weatherford International Ltd. Pipeline and Specialty Servicesand Norson Services Ltd. a multi-million dollar contract for the provision of pipeline pre-commissioning services as part of the Simian, Sienna, and Sapphire development project. The contract, which will be managed from project offices in Aberdeen, was awarded to Weatherford Free Zone Egypt in February 2004.

Pemex Exploration and Productionhas awarded Houston-based Paragon Engineering Services Inc. a contract to provide basic and detailed engineering for the Ayin-A and Ayin-B drilling platforms in 600 ft of water offshore Mexico.
