Following the Devon Energy Corp. and Ocean Energy Inc. merger,J. Larry Nichols will retain the positions of chairman and CEO. James T. Hackett will be named president and COO. The board of directors will consist of nine members from Devon and four members from Ocean.

The company has appoint-ed Greg McKenna as commercial manager, Joel Weston as opera-tions manager, Alister Stewart as the assets manager, and Leon Brand as projects manager.

Motion Industries Inc. has namedMark Sheehan president and CEO, Motion-Canada, Jim Clark vice president and general manager of Mi Industrial and Hub Supply, and Tom Robertshaw senior vice president – sales.

Ensco International Inc. said thatC. Christopher Gaut, senior vice president and CFO, resigned his position at Ensco effective Feb. 28 to join Halliburton Co. as executive vice president and CFO. Gaut worked at Ensco over 15 years and had served as the company's CFO since 1988.

Cameron has awarded CorrOcean Inc. a $1 million contract to provide high-accuracy digital subsea SenCorr PT Pressure – Temperature sensor systems. The sensors will monitor the pressure and temperature of produced fluids, and be deployed on the subsea trees for Husky Energy's White Rose development project off Canada.

Sonsub International Pty Ltd. has relocated its regional Asia Pacific facility to Loyang, Singapore, in the heart of Singapore's oilfield service community.

Grant Prideco Inc. has acquired the remaining 35% of shares for Rotator from Scana Industrier ASA. Grant Prideco now owns 100% of the shares of Rotator.

France Telecom and Equant have signed a contract with TotalFinaElf to interconnect 1,500 of the group's sites in 75 countries with Equant IP VPN.

Benthos Inc. has been awarded a phase I small business innovation research contract with the Office of Naval Research to develop systems for spatial sampling of underwater environments. The systems will employ subsea imaging, chemical sensing, and current measurements at several locations centered on a single gateway.

Weatherford International's drilling and inter-vention services division has completed the acquisition of Eclipse Packer Co. Eclipse offers Weatherford the opportunity to incorporate Eclipse packers, straddles, and gravel pack systems into its growing range of thru-tubing services, which now are being marketed under the WellServ brand name.

LeTourneau Ellis Williams Co.'s facilities in Houston have been expanded to enable the mud pump company to keep pace with the increasing needs of the worldwide oil and gas drilling industry.

International training providerRGIT Montrose has launched an internet-based module to enhance delivery of its Basic Offshore Survival Introduction and Emergency Training (Bosiet) course. The Bosiet syllabus combines theoretical and practical training at an introductory level in the areas of basic safety, helicopter safety and escape, sea survival, firefighting, and self rescue.

A new, specialist service group set up last year withinBureau Veritas' energy and process division in Aberdeen provides services used in the planning of new construction, extensions, or modification of offshore oil and gas industry structures, both onshore and offshore. Brookfield Engineering Laboratorieshas expanded its product offerings by acquiring the texture products division of CNS Farnell, formerly known as the Stevens line of Texture Analyzers. Their products include the standardized Stevens LFRA Texture Analyzer and the QTS-25 Texture Analyzer.
