People

As part of a new management structure, Ørsted has established a new commercial organization under Rasmus Errboe, who has been appointed deputy CEO and chief commercial officer. Errboe is currently interim CFO and was previously CEO of Region Europe at Ørsted.

Skyborn Renewables has appointed Patrick Lammers CEO, effective June 1, replacing Thomas Karst. In addition, Søren Skou, the former CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk, has joined Skyborn as chair of the advisory board.

Effective August 2024, David Mullen will step down from the role of Shelf Drilling CEO and assume that of executive chairman. Mullen has served as CEO since November 2012. Greg O’Brien, current executive vice president (EVP) and CFO, will be appointed CEO. The company has launched a search process to identify a suitable candidate to replace O’Brien as EVP and CFO. In addition, Ernie Danner will step down as chairman of the board and will then serve as lead independent director.

Independent hydrocarbon producer Perenco Group has appointed Armel Simondin the new CEO of Perenco SA.

Charles Njuguna, president, CEO, CFO and member of the board of directors of Koil Energy Solutions, a subsea energy equipment and services provider, has resigned due to a family health matter. He will stay on through March 31, 2024, and oversee the 2023 fiscal year-end audit and financial reporting. Erik Wiik has been appointed a member of the company’s board, effective March 8, and to serve as its next CEO, effective April 1.

Murphy Oil Corp. has promoted Eric M. Hambly to president and COO and E. Ted Botner to executive vice president.

Trillion Energy International Inc. has appointed David Thompson interim CFO and continues its search for a permanent CFO. Ozge Karalli will no longer be able to fulfill the duties of the CFO as a result of her termination with Park Place Energy, Trillion’s operating subsidiary in Turkey.

Kate Thomson has been appointed bp CFO and will join bp’s board. She has been interim CFO since September 2023.

Well-Safe Solutions has appointed its first CFO, Alan McQuade, as it continues to deliver its strategic growth plans throughout Asia-Pacific and Europe.

McDermott has named Linda Borne senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

TGS has appointed Wadii El Karkouri executive vice president of Imaging and Technology.

OEG Energy Group Ltd., an offshore solutions business, has appointed Caroline Merson its new chief marketing and communications officer.

Shell's head of LNG, natural gas and power trading, Steve Hill, stepped down March 28. Shell said his successor would be announced in the coming weeks. 

Maciej Jozwiak has joined GLO Marine's team as the new technical and green transition manager.

Port of Aberdeen's John Wilson has been promoted to head of engineering, joining the executive leadership team. In addition, Benji Morrison has been welcomed as the new harbour master, and Peter Suttie has been promoted to operations manager.

Westwood Global Energy Group, an energy market research and consultancy firm, has appointed Cinnamon Edralin to its RigLogix team as Americas research director.

Dr. Adel Chaouch has been appointed to the Jadestone Energy board of directors as an independent non-executive director, and Robert Lambert and Lisa Stewart have stepped down from the board with immediate effect. 

Industry trade group Offshore Marine Service Association has added four CEOs to its board of directors. The new members include Wes Bordelon, Bordelon Marine CEO; Stacy Jo Stanley, Offshore Oil Services CEO; David Dantin, Odyssea Marine CEO; and Lasse Petterson, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock CEO.

Talos Energy has completed its acquisition of QuarterNorth Energy, an E&P independent focused on the US Gulf of Mexico.

SBM Offshore and Technip Energies have signed a memorandum of understanding for the creation of a floating offshore wind joint venture named EkWiL.

Teledyne Marine has agreed to acquire Valeport, a provider of design and manufacture of underwater sensors and profilers.

Dril-Quip and Innovex Downhole Solutions have agreed to merge via an all-stock transaction.

Archer Ltd. has acquired 65% of Vertikal Services AS.

Massterly, an autonomous vessel operations specialist, has opened its Remote Operation Center in Horten.

DUG Technology has upgraded its Houston geoscience data center to increase the company’s high-performance computing capabilities. 

Mermaid Maritime has formed a 50:50 joint venture company in Vietnam with Tan Cang Offshore Services

Advanced Ocean Systems, a US-based business offering autonomous and remote systems development capabilities to the ocean industry, has acquired Ocean Specialists Inc.

Blue Water, a provider of logistics services in modern supply chain management, has signed an agreement to acquire the operations of Zodiac Solutions, a South Korean logistics company.

PALFINGER, a producer and provider of crane and lifting equipment, has opened a new site in Perth, Western Australia. 

Kansai Electric Power Co. has become a shareholder in Odfjell Oceanwind (OOW) via a private placement. The company is now the third largest shareholder in OOW after the Odfjell family and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.

Altera Infrastructure LP has sold ALP Maritime Group and its associated subsidiaries, which own a fleet of anchor-handling tug supply vessels. This will allow Altera to focus on FPSO and shuttle tanker operations and prepare for investments in the Stella Maris CCS project.

VAALCO Energy has entered an agreement to acquire Stockholm-based Svenska Petroleum Exploration for $66.5 million. Svenska’s main asset is a 27.39% interest in Block CI-40 offshore Côte d’Ivoire.

Axess Group and Guyana Logistics and Support Services (GLASS) have agreed to form the joint venture Axess Glass, which the companies say will be Guyana’s largest engineering and asset integrity management company.

DORIS has acquired Windglaz, a provider of numerical analysis of fixed and floating offshore wind energy and floating solar systems.

OEG Energy Group has acquired Marine Coordination Services (MCS), an offshore project services provider based in Terschelling, the Netherlands. MCS will join the OEG Renewables division.
