This weekly update provides the latest in senior appointments, promotions, retirements and more across the offshore energy industry.

HOUSTON — Veritas Capital announced that an affiliate of Veritas has completed the purchase of Wood Mackenzie from Verisk. The acquired company will be led by Mark Brinin, who has been promoted from co-president to CEO, and Joe Levesque has been appointed president and COO. Read more. 

Ancala Midstream, the independent operator of midstream infrastructure and major North Sea infrastructure, has appointed Alexis Fletcher CEO. He takes over from Jim Halliday who has stepped down as CEO. Read more. 

Capricorn has confirmed six new board members and also appointed Craig van der Laan as chair and Chris Cox as interim CEO. Read more. 

The board of Barryroe Offshore Energy Plc has appointed Alan Curran CEO, and the board promoted Colin Christie to CFO-elect, effective Feb. 1, 2023. CFO Simon Brett will step down Feb. 28, 2023. Read more. 

Jakob Korsgaard was appointed COO of Odfjell Drilling AS to oversee the operational activities of the company as part of our executive management team.

Maha Energy AB has named Barbara Bittencourt chief legal officer and Jakob Sintring head of investor relations. 

Karen Brady and Nnadozie Nwogbe have joined the bp Solutions Reliability team.

Rovco has appointed Graham Bell head of geoscience.

Dräger Marine & Offshore's Megan Hine, who was previously account manager of fixed gas detection systems, has taken on the role of UK business development manager of clean energy.

Clarksons Offshore & Renewables has appointed Jonathan Lints to head up its US offshore operations.

Waves Group Ltd. has welcomed Giacomo Pison to its team in London as consultant naval architect, strengthening the company's casualty response and surveying capabilities for the energy sector in engineering design consultancy, MWS and offshore renewable projects.

ERM, a sustainability consultancy, has appointed Søren Juel Petersen to lead renewable energy business development and client service in the Nordic region. Petersen will be based in ERM’s newly opened office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Christian Breckenridge is starting a new position as principal decision analyst adviser, with the Lower Carbon Central Team, Strategy and Business Performance, at Chevron.

Petrobras CEO Jean Paul Terra Prates has indicated five new members for the composition of the executive board: Claudio SchlosserCarlos TravassosJoelson FalcãoWilliam França and Carlos Augusto BarretoThe nominations will be submitted to the internal procedures of corporate governance, including the compliance and integrity analyses required for the company's succession process, forwarded to the Personnel Committee for appreciation and then to the Board of Directors for deliberation.

Robert G. Gwin, former president of Anadarko Petroleum Corp., has been appointed to TechnipFMC's board of directors. Also, Peter Mellbye will retire from the board and will not stand for re-election at TechnipFMC's next annual general meeting. 

HData, a provider of regulatory data and analytics for the regulated energy industry, has appointed George P. Bush, former commissioner of the Texas General Land Office, to its board of advisers.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd.'s Junichiro Ikeda will resign from his current position as chairman executive officer on March 31, upon expiration of the term. His new position, as of April 1, will be chairman of the board.

Shell plc is to reduce the size of its Executive Committee (EC) from nine to seven members. Under the changes, which are expected to take effect on July 1, Shell’s Integrated Gas and Upstream businesses will be combined to form a new Integrated Gas and Upstream Directorate led by current Upstream Director Zoe Yujnovich. The Downstream business will be combined with Renewables & Energy Solutions to form a new Downstream and Renewables Directorate led by current Downstream Director Huibert Vigeveno. Separately, the Strategy, Sustainability and Corporate Relations Directorate will be discontinued, and Director Ed Daniels will step down from the EC, effective July 1, and leave Group service thereafter. Strategy will be brought together with New Business Development and, alongside Sustainability, will report direct to CFO Sinead Gorman. Corporate Relations will report direct to CEO Wael Sawan.

Chair at OCEA Shipbuilding UK Ltd. Tony Graham has joined the Science Quality Assurance Group of Heath and Safety Executive, a national independent watchdog for work-related health, safety and illness.

The executive changes come after the firm secured a €40 million convertible loan note in November 2022 to fund its appraisal program, pending ministerial approval.
