Two offshore service providers have secured contract wins aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and safety in key regions. Bilfinger will deploy advanced inspection technologies across bp’s UK North Sea assets, while EnerMech has extended its offshore crane maintenance agreement with Dubai Petroleum.
Bilfinger snags UK inspection contract with bp
bp has contracted Bilfinger to perform inspection services using non-destructive testing (NDT) over all the operator’s UK North Sea facilities.
It follows a recent three-year extension of Bilfinger’s insulation, access and painting contract with bp, which was first awarded in 2019.
Since then, service has been expanded to include tank entry and specialized cleaning, using a team of 14 onshore and 241 offshore personnel.
For the new program, Bilfinger said in an Aug. 26 news release that it would deploy technologies including robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve efficiency and lower emissions at bp’s operations. The company will also introduce what it describes as a “fully integrated, end-to-end digital workflow,” strengthening the NDT service through smart digitization and AI-ready integration.
EnerMech, Dubai Petroleum ink two-year contract
EnerMech reported has also secured a two-year contract extension with Dubai Petroleum for offshore crane maintenance services. The two parties have been working together since 2022.
The contract scope covers both planned and corrective maintenance, with dedicated site personnel assigned to multiple assets on Dubai Petroleum’s offshore fields.
It also includes additional call-off services and onshore servicing and refurbishment of crane components.
