Parker Instrumentation expanded its ball valve offering by adding a 25-mm version valve to its Hi Pro valve family. The new valve features a two-piece construction that reduces potential leak paths and increases reliability, the company says. The valve is designed for long-lifecycle applications in offshore environments.

The valve mechanism works on the floating ball principle, with dynamic response seats and an anti blowout stem and offers 100% bubble tight operation, Parker says. The ball valve also operates with low breakout (actuation) torque.

The new high-flow rate option extends the application scope for Parker's valve family from instrumentation applications into areas such as isolation on process lines and vessel draining and venting, the company says. The valve can be configured with a choice of end connections, including integral compression tube fittings, which makes the valve suitable for hydraulic power applications.

Designed to link with Parker's computer-controlled design and manufacturing facility, the valve offers considerable flexibility in construction specifications. The valve is available in 316 or duplex steel, though Parker expects to offer other fabrication materials.
