GE Energy will supply gas turbine-generator sets and centrifugal compressor packages to EnCana Ltd. for its Buzzard field development project in the North Sea, 100 km northeast of Aberdeen, Scotland.

The contract covers the supply of three aeroderivative PGT 25+ gas turbines and waste heat recovery units. The gas turbines, rated at 30 megawatts at ISO conditions, will use natural gas and liquid fuel. In addition, GE will provide five electric motor-driven, centrifugal compressor packages for gas lift and gas export services. The power output of these units ranges from two to six megawatts.

GE will design, engineer, manufacture, and test all of the equipment. GE will manufacture the gas turbines at its facilities in Florence, Italy, and the compressors at the company's facilities in Le Creusot, France.

GE will ship the compressors to the project site in 4Q 2004 and the gas turbines in the 1Q 2005.
