Billion dollar DP flowmeter market predicted

Wakefield, Massachusetts-- Flow Research's new study, "The World Market for Differential Pressure (DP) Flowmeters and Primary Elements," finds the worldwide DP flowmeter market totaled $996 million in 2006, and will exceed $1 billion dollars in 2007.
The study reports the market has been undervalued because only the value of DP transmitters has been counted toward the value of the DP flowmeter market. The new data includes the value of both DP transmitters and primary elements in the total market size.
DP flowmeters use both a DP transmitter and a primary element in making a flow measurement. The primary element places a restriction in the flowstream, and the DP flow transmitter measures the difference between the upstream and downstream pressures.
Worldwide DP flowmeter revenues are projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.5% through 2011, when they are expected to approach $1.4 billion.
