BJ PPS completes pipeline service off Australia

ABERDEEN, UK -- BJ Process and Pipeline Services (BJ PPS) has completed a range of pipeline engineering, testing, and pre-commissioning services for Allseas Construction Contractors SA. The project was done on behalf of pipeline owner Woodside Energy Ltd. and its Perseus-over-Goodwyn (PoG) project, a natural gas pipeline system. The pipeline is in 130 m of water (427 ft), approximately 20 km (12 mi) northeast of the Goodwyn Alpha platform and 7.8 km (4.8 mi) northwest of the North Rankin platform in the North West Shelf area offshore Dampier, Western Australia.
BJ PPS provided flooding, gauging, hydrostatic testing, and pre-commissioning services for the 16-in. x 24.1 km (40-cm x14 mi) subsea line and two 10-in. (25 cm) PoG pipelines measuring 1.4 km (0.9 mi) and 1.8 km (1.1 mi), respectively. Allseas' DP supply vessel Highland Rover supported the work.
BJ PPS used a range of its specialist pipeline testing and commissioning equipment, including two new Woma pressurizing pumps. The units were designed and built on compact skids for easy transport offshore.
A dedicated team of eight BJ PPS engineers and technicians was responsible for all operational aspects of the contract, as well as the preparation of operational procedures, planning, health, safety and environmental requirements, quality assurance and administration.
The PoG project involves a subsea pipeline system to carry natural gas from the Perseus field to the onshore Karratha Gas Plant. The new pipeline system is scheduled to begin operating in October.
