ABERDEEN, UK -- MCS has launched DeepRiser 2.4, a new version of the DeepRiser subsea engineering software.

The enhanced program deals with engineering concepts such as riser joints, stack-ups, vessels, and casings, while automatically generating a finite-element mesh, carrying out the required analysis and generating appropriate output.

According the company, version 2.4 incorporates a more robust drilling riser parameter study analysis facility and automatically performs drift-off and weak point analysis.

Other new features of the software include:
•Upgrading of the dynamic display module to 3D.
•Streamlined navigation, data input, and top-tension calibration tools.

"The DeepRiser program was designed to provide a quick and easy-to-use way of organizing and carrying out multiple analysis cases without user intervention," says Kieran Coughlan of MCS. "Due to its growing popularity, we have refined the program to further enhance the capabilities users tell us they want."
